Victoria Harbour has a healthy fish population. There have been 19 species recorded in Docklands. Bream is the most abundant but other common species include snapper, mullet, luderick, trevally, salmon, flathead, tailor and mulloway. You must have a licence to fish.

Stay safe around water
Improve your safety around marina’s and harbours:
• Never swim in or around active waterways or marinas
• Obey all water safety signs
• Check for flood warnings;
• Wear a lifejacket while boating
• Don’t drink alcohol while recreating around water, or when supervising children
• Make sure there’s someone looking out for you
YARRA RIVER KEEPER
How to get involved:
Help to keep our waterways clean by getting involved in river clean-ups with community organisation the Yarra Riverkeeper Association, which helps increase awareness and appreciation of the river.
MARINA BERTHING
You can berth for free for up to four hours in the City of Melbourne – subject to availability, call the Marina office for directions (03) 9658 8738. ALMA DOEPEL
The Alma Doepel is a three-masted topsail schooner with more than 100 years of history behind her and more history yet to be written.
ENTERPRIZE
A timber two-masted, topsail schooner, the Enterprize Tall Ship, is a replica of the first vessel that brought British settlers to Melbourne in 1835.
